Which photos work best
The sculpt can only be as good as what it is built from. You do not need a professional shoot, you need a few honest, sharp pictures.

A figure made from a photograph, made one at a time
About custom figures
A custom figure is sculpted by hand from photographs you already have — a wedding, a graduation, a retirement, a pet that is no longer here. Nothing is scanned and nothing is automated: someone sits with your pictures and builds the person in 3D.
It is then printed in UV-cured resin at 0.025 to 0.05 mm layer height, cleaned, sanded, primed and painted by hand in a one-person workshop in Darmstadt. A single figure takes around sixteen hours of hand work.
That is also the honest limit of it: a figure is a likeness, not a copy. Posture, proportions and face are read out of your photos by a person — which is why the pictures you send decide most of the result.
Why a photo is enough
No appointment. No studio. No spoiling the surprise.
A personalised 3D figure is modelled by hand from photographs you already have — a birthday, a wedding, a retirement, or a pet that is no longer here. There is no scanning appointment and no studio visit, which makes it the only version of this gift that can genuinely be a surprise.
Most personalized figures need you in a room with a scanner. That rules out the one thing this gift is usually for: giving it to someone who has no idea it is coming.
Photographs you already have are enough. A handful of clear pictures — face from the front, one from the side, one of the whole person — carries everything a sculptor needs.
Every figure begins with your photo and your notes. The model is sculpted in 3D, and you receive a rotatable preview for approval before production starts. Three rounds of changes are included at no cost. Only after your approval is the figure printed in high-precision SLA resin and hand-painted in Darmstadt.
Available for one to three people in a single piece, from 15 to 30 cm, plus pets, busts and a digital STL file if you would rather print it yourself.

How a figure comes together
You send your photos and your notes — who it is, what they should be wearing, what the figure is for.
The model is sculpted in 3D and you get a rotatable preview before anything is printed. Three rounds of changes are included; most figures need one. Nothing goes into the printer until you say yes.
After your approval it is printed in SLA resin, cured, and painted by hand. The face is painted last and takes the longest, because it is the part that has to be right.

Choosing a size
15 cm is a desk figure and reads as one person at a glance. At 20 and 25 cm, clothing folds, hands and faces start to carry real detail. 30 cm is a display piece, and the size to pick for two or three people in one scene.
One to three people fit in a single piece. Pets can stand alongside them or on their own. Busts are available where the face is the whole point — and a digital STL file if you would rather print it yourself.
Resin or PLA
Neither one is the better version of the other. They are two materials that do two different jobs.
- Resin holds sharp edges and fine surface detail, and it is painted by hand in metal tones — it is dense, cool in the hand, and fragile where the parts get thin. It belongs on a shelf in low light.
- PLA is lighter and tougher, the colour is printed rather than painted, and the layer lines are part of the look. It belongs on a desk, where people pick it up.

Before you order
What kind of photo do you need?
Two or three sharp photos where the face is clearly visible, from slightly different angles. A group shot taken from five metres away will not work.
Does the person have to come anywhere?
No. That is the entire point — the figure can be a surprise.
What if it does not look like them?
You see a rotatable 3D preview before anything is printed, and you get three rounds of changes at no cost.
Can I cancel?
Free of charge until you approve the preview. After that the piece is made to your specification and the statutory withdrawal right no longer applies — you are told this clearly and have to confirm it before you buy.
What happens to my photos?
Used for your figure and nothing else, deleted 90 days after delivery. Your finished figure only appears on this site if you tick the box allowing it.
When will my order arrive?
Custom figures made from a photo take longer, because the model is sculpted and approved before anything is printed.
Are the figures really painted by hand?
Yes. After printing, each piece is washed, cured, primed and painted individually. Two figures of the same sculpt differ slightly, and that is the point.
Can I return a custom figure?
Custom-made items are excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal, because they cannot be resold. That is why you approve the 3D model before printing and get three rounds of changes for free.
What are they made of?
Statues are printed in SLA resin for fine detail. Desk figures are printed in multicolor PLA, which is sturdier and cheaper.
Do you ship outside Germany?
Germany today. EU, UK and USA are being switched on shortly, and the shipping rates are already in place.
